Step One: This step shouldn't be a mystery to you. Every drawing should start with a ball and stick sketch of the character and its pose.

Step Two: A.) A ninja turtle's head is more rounded than a human's. They have no real nose, but more of a 'beak'. The eyes are smaller and may be modeled as human eyes or traditional turtle eyes which are often a blank white.

B.) Muscle definition is imperative. I've discovered that the best models for bodies are usually action figure dolls. Some people like 'em beefier, but I like to draw them strong and sleek. Like a Doberman. Eyebrows are often indicated in the skin, but may be shown as human brows as well. The latter is the easier.

Step Three: A.) Hands only have two fingers and a thumb. I don't know why. However, you must make sure that your hands aren't thin and spindly or they'll look feminine.

B.) Feet are drawn by the same principle. Two toes in front and one in the back. Remember, not too thin.

*A note about shells- some people like to draw the shells, some people prefer to keep them off. I like to go both ways, but traditionally, the turtles were drawn with shells.
